Community Development Programme

On 25.02.2023 at 10:45 am, Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board(TNUHDB) collaborated with RUN students from Holy Cross College (Autonomous), and Gold King Charitable Trust to conduct a Baseline Survey in the houses of New Parakinkal community at Paalkulam. The survey was designed to collect fundamental details about the families residing in this community, such as house number, income level, sibling details, and education information. The programme began with Mr. Raja Gopal (Assistant Executive Engineer), who graced the occasion as the chief guest along with Mr. Vimel (Junior Engineering), Mr. Jeya Chandran (Community Officer), and staff members and  students from Holy Cross College. Ms. Cathrine Mary, Managing Trustee and Director also joined hands during this collective effort. Under the guidance of these professionals, 43 enthusiastic students visited sixty different households within the community to get detailed information about each family's key demographics. They utilized a specially designed survey format prepared by TNUHDB using Google Sheets which helped them gather relevant data accurately. Through this initiative, every participant contributed towards developing a sound understanding of New Parakinkal Community's current socio-economic status and demographic composition for future developmental plans and proposals aimed at addressing their unique requirements effectively.
