School awareness programme on legal rights of children

On 03.02.2023 at around 11.30 am, a school awareness programme was conducted for the Govt. Primary School at Thachamalai (Pachipparai Panchayat) focused on educating children about their legal rights. The event was graced by Mr. Devadhas, President of Pechipparai Panchayat, as the chief guest along with other dignitaries such as representatives from AWED GK NGO, staff members of CHILDLINE- Kanniyakumari, Mrs. Cathrine Mary (Managing Trustee Director of Gold King Charitable Trust), and students from Holy Cross College (Autonomous). In total, there were 18 children and 63 adults who participated in the programme including the School HM, six parents.

The participants were educated about various areas such as legal rights for children and safe touch and unsafe touch through Komal video. Additionally, every child received education materials during the programme to ensure they have all necessary information to better understand their rights and responsibilities going forward.
