Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board (TNUHDB), RUN Students of Holy Cross College (Autonomous), and Gold King Charitable organized the tree plantation programme at Puliyadi community at 10 am 02.09.2023. Mr. Immanuel (Community Participatory Assistant) welcomed the participants who gathered for the programme. The purpose of the programme was to the plant the saplings, to make the community green and to promote tree adoption among community members to enhance green cover and combat climate change.

Officers of TNUHDB, 35 students & 2 staff members of Holy Cross College and community members participated in the programme. They all cleaned the ground and prepared the land to plant the saplings. The first sapling was planted by Mr. M. Mugesh. Coordinator of Gold King Charitable Trust. Mr. Immanuel (Community Participatory Assistant), staff & students of Holy Cross College, volunteer community adults supported to plant 15 saplings (Neem, jamun, Sapota, Guava, mango, naval Poovarasu and Poggu) in and around the community. Two manvetti was sponsored by Gold King Charitable Trust for Puliyadi community people.

This event supported to bring the ground clean and planted the trees. In future, this 15-tree sapling will bring fresh air, fruits and it will give shadow for the community members. Two manvetti was received by Puliyadi community members with the support of GK Trust. Two manvetti will be very useful for the community to plant trees, to clean the land and to dig the ditch. The community members coordinator and college students joyfully participated in the event and planted trees.
