World Women’s Day 2023

The Social Action Movement, together with NGOs in the Kanniyakumari District, recently organized a programme in celebration of World Women’s Day 2023. The event was held on March 7th at Caritas Tower and began at 10:30 AM. It was graced by the presence of several distinguished guests, including Mr. K. Nambirajan Judge (Legal Service Authority), Mrs. R. Sharojini (District Social Welfare Officer), Ms. Sharin Admin of One Stop Centre, and Mrs. Mary Princy Latha (Deputy Mayor) who acted as chief guests during the activities.

In addition to them were resource persons like Mrs. Mehala RMP, Mrs. Lekshmi RUC, Mrs. D. Cathrine Mary GKCT, Mrs. Shakundhala WFKK, Mrs. Agnes Glory Former Secretary of WFKK and Mr. Advo. Maria Stephen RUC alongside directors and representatives from various NGOs who joined in this momentous occasion.

During the programme, Director of Gold King Charitable Trust Ms. D. Cathrine Mary highlighted about violence faced by children and spread awareness about child sexual abuse and helpline number 1098 for children facing such issues.The event saw an impressive attendance of around 275 participants who eagerly took part in all aspects of the programme; it was truly a day dedicated to celebrating women all over the world!
